So Which Detox or Cleansing System is Best?
Knowing whether to do a fruit detox, water detox or heavy metal detox is important but how do we find out? Maybe what we need is a Detox Scanner of some kind – a little like a health tricorder used with such impressive ease in Star Trek.
Sadly we don’t have such advanced technology yet but sign me up for an advance order, OK?
The technology we do have is Trace Mineral Analysis which is done on a sample of the detoxer’s hair. Once the hair has been analysed by a specialist laboratory we get the results showing us how much of each mineral and each heavy metal there is in the body.
Along with the health history of the patient which we get just by a question and answer process this provides a lot of useful information for the kind of detox needed.
So we can’t detox everybody the same way. If, like some friends of mine, you have lived near a bus or coach station for years or if you have a mouthful of so called silver fillings more properly called mercury fillings you will have a high toxic load of heavy metals.
This means that you need a specific heavy metal detox that has the ability to scour the lead, cadmium, aluminium or mercury out of your system.
This would require a thorough detox with chelators, herbs and minerals focusing on helping the body eliminate the toxic metals from the body without causing further damage.
Someone without that toxic exposure may be able to use a simple detox cleanse consisting of what I call a Superfood Diet and some green smoothies and drinking some nice detox Yogi teas and have a much easier time of her detox.
And someone with a history of drug abuse or binge drinking is going to need a particular focus on liver cleansing, liver detox and healing as well as seriously good emotional support.
So there is a best detox cleanse for you but there is no best detox that is the same for everyone.
Your detox has to match your need, your age and your strength. Someone in a poor state of health needs to recover some of their vitality first – then they will have the energy they need to detox.
Jumping straight into a powerful detox system without careful consideration of overall health and circumstances is a mistake. Almost always if you need a detox cleanse you need some healing first before you get into the detox proper.
Nearly everybody has some damage to their gut and that can be proven if needed by a Laboratory test to measure the permeability of the wall of the intestines. Usually the permeability is too high and shows that some preliminary mending and healing needs doing so that the gut is strong enough to deal with colon cleansing and liver detox.
Such damage is so common that many nutritionists and naturopaths assume that their patient has it and spend some time prior to detox in which the wall of the gut is healed.
The best detox or cleanse is the one designed for you and fits your individual needs as assessed by a detox expert.
